OUR STORY

Welcome to The Armatree Hotel

Welcome to the Armatree Hotel, we hope you will stay for a few beers or even a few nights!

Our story begins in 1929, when the hotel was built.  Constructed from Castlereagh River sand, with the bricks made on site, the hotel remains a timeless classic on the exterior, whilst the interior has been extensively restored since 2007 by current owners, Ash & Lib Walker.

Ash & Lib purchased the hotel in 2007 as newly weds, with a vision to bring the old hotel back to life.  Once the initial tidy up had taken place, work soon started on opening up the bar area, painting the upstairs accommodation, sanding floors and renovating the public bathrooms.

Gradually an undercover beer garden was added, a camp kitchen was built and the most recent addition as been the update to the new modern commercial kitchen.

A caravanning and camp area was always in the grand plan but something that came about sooner than expected when vans began pulling in and asking to stay. The flat grassy green lawn for the vans is well patronised. With a shower for use and power available to those who need, this has become a very popular way to stay and visit our great old pub.

Ash and Lib have worked hard to create a destination pub that not only specialises in traditional country hospitality, but brings live music and comedy acts to the backyard, hosts weddings, birthdays, market days and anything in between.

WINNER 2018 & 2019 NSW Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Best Bush Pub!

See you soon at The Armatree!
